What is lip blushing?
Lip Blushing is now the eyebrow's best friend. There is an entire demographic of women that have had lip fillers to create a beautiful pout and fullness in their lips. After lip fillers the lip line can become blurred and faint from this slight stretch and increased volume. This treatment will compliment lip fillers by giving additional color back to the border of the lips, and the overall lip tone. It's also very popular for women that have naturally faint lips, or would like to balance an asymmetric lip line.
Lip Blush is a great alternative to make up.
How long does Lip Blush last?
Lip Blushing is a semi permanent procedure so results can last up to two years with proper care. A touch-up is required at 30 days to refresh the pigment for proper saturation and distribution of ink into the lips.

"But what if I want to wear a different colored lipstick?"
Go for it! This does not replace your lipstick, but gives your lips a natural, blush tint. If you are a person that loves the appearance of "no-makeup makeup" and wants to look like your lips have a little life during the work week, at the gym, picking up a coffee and running errands, and like to feel "effortlessly put-together" - this is it! On the weekends when you go out for an event and wear heavier makeup, put on some heels and a bright and bold, or dark and grungy lipstick, then have fun with it!
Is this procedure safe for people with particularly sensitive skin or allergies?
Skin sensitivities and allergies are always taken into consideration on an individual assessment of lip blushing. The majority of clients with skin sensitivities or allergies are minor and eligible for tattooing, only resulting in a mild redness of the skin that subsides within an hour or two post-treatment. Any serious allergies to numbing agents such as Lidocaine, Tetracaine, latex, or cosmetics should always be disclosed to your technician prior to your appointment. I recommend all clients that have a history of HSV1 take a preventative antiviral tablet a few days before and after their appointment to avoid a breakout. This lip tattoo does not give you cold sores if you do not have the virus, but any treatments to lips if a person has the virus can increase the risk of an outbreak.
Is there anything else you think people should absolutely know before booking an appointment?
A follow up appointment is always recommended to ensure the desired result is achieved around four to six weeks after the initial appointment. The initial appointment will take between 1.5 and 2 hours, including numbing time and consultation.
What is Lip Blushing, Lip Tattoo, Lip Blush, Candy Lips?
This procedure naturally colors the lips in one treatment and is done under a topical anesthetic. Most people’s lip color fades through age, sun damage and chemicals.
This is a simple and natural procedure to enhance the natural color of your lips and it lasts around a year. Traditional permanent makeup uses a strong machine, synthetic pigments, and is embedded deep in the dermis.
The permanent makeup of today is very different – we use organic pigments and modern, digital tools.
While others offer lip tattooing, Studio Ivanova uses a special special technique, which includes shading, lining and pixelating.
The procedure will take around an hour and includes the numbing time. We reapply numbing cream as needed.
The technique and color choices I make create a natural, blush, candy or "just bitten" look to the lips.
The technique uses a small needle and works softly on the lips to very gently implant the color without creating too heavy of a lip-liner/border appearance.
Colors are chosen for the client's desired results and skin tones, but my overall aim is to give lips life and a natural tint without being too dramatic.
I love to use pigments with a slight opacity and sheerness. They allow me to create a soft blush appearance.

What Can I Expect during the full lip color healing process?
Healing can be a very hard process for some. Everyone's skin is different. Although Full Lip blushing is effective in most cases, no guarantee can be made that everyone will benefit from the procedure. Full Lip Color heals about 30-50% lighter than the initial service. Generally, the results are excellent, but it very much depends on your skin type, texture, and aftercare. There are many factors that could affect your healing. Your new lip color will go through several phases during the healing cycle.
1. The pigment will appear very sharp and dark immediately after the procedure. This is because the pigment is still sitting on top of your skin and has not yet settled in completely. Your lip area may be slightly swollen and may look/feel slightly larger. While some are ok with this, some have a very hard time -
Just breathe, give it time and trust the process.
2. The color of the pigment will soften gradually, for some, the pigment may seem to disappear. Again, just breathe and trust the process. Do not be alarmed if you see some pigment on the cotton swab, as this is excess pigment and/or lymph exiting the skin. Once the healing of the skin starts taking place, it will look like dandruff flakes or dry skin. This might give you the impression that the color pigment is fading too quickly, however, this is just superficial color and dry skin being naturally sloughed from your lips. Your lips may develop some undesirable scabbing. DO NOT PICK! We cannot stress this enough, DO NOT PICK!
3. We will give you complete aftercare instructions which you MUST follow! 50% of your results are my technique and the other 50% is on you.

Lip Blushing After Care Instructions
1. For the 10 days following the procedure, wash the site gently using water and an antibacterial soap. Apply Aquafor lip balm, or the ointment we provide you multiple times per day.
2. Blot the area dry. Do not rub. Massage balm in gently for 15 seconds.
3. After initial healing (7 - 10 days) use Chapstick with sun block over the tattooed area to preserve color. The continued use of at least SPF 30 sunblock with UVA and UVB protection will help to prevent fading.
4. Sleep slightly elevated for the first few nights to reduce swelling.
5. May use ice pack for no more than 15 minutes at a time to reduce any swelling
6. Besides gently cleansing the procedure area daily, keep excessive water off of your lips for the next 10 -14 days. That includes sweating, saunas, swimming and hot showers.
7. Do not use any lip makeup, face creams, exfoliators (chemical or physical) or harsh cleansers on your lips during the healing process.
8. Normal activity can be resumed immediately, but no heavy exercise such as aerobic dancing, weightlifting, swimming, hot yoga, etc. for the next 10 days.
9. Your procedure will begin to oxidize immediately. This causes the pigment to become darker. Do not be alarmed, this dark color will fade during the next few days.
10. Do not pick any scabs or dry areas that may form during the healing process. I repeat DO NOT PICK. This may cause you to lose color or damage your skin. Instead, apply some of the after-care balm your technician gave you after the procedure.
11. Other fading or loss of pigment may occur. Some flaking off of the pigment is normal on some skin types; the pigment may sometimes disappear only to re-appear a few days or weeks later. Any pigment loss will be recovered at the touch up.
